Simon, 34, living near Naples, Italy, is a model maker with a passion for engineering and military machines. He makes pizzas by profession and is dedicated to making people happy. His hobbies include video games, anime, films and TV series, as well as a keen interest in technology and science. From a young age, Simon has enjoyed creating his own creations out of building blocks ("little bricks") and showed a passion for engineering in his childhood. |
Since 2011, Simon has officially entered the field of MOC (My Own Creation) modelling and has designed around 200 models to date. He is particularly fond of military-themed models such as the CH-53E helicopter and the B-2 bomber, which are outstanding examples of his engineering talents. Simon's MOC design process starts with collecting a large number of reference images, then scaling them to the size of the real machine, and finally using building blocks to recreate the real shape as accurately as possible. He pays particular attention to designing in a way that is faithful to the details of the original model, whilst keeping production costs reasonable. |
Simon's designs are inspired by films, TV shows, and military and engineering videos. His proudest work is the Mi-35 HIND helicopter, one of the classics of his early designs and one of his masterpieces that gained him attention in the MOC community. The main challenge he faces during the design process is achieving accurate shapes with the blocks, especially the curved parts, but this is also the part he enjoys. |
In the future, Simon plans to put more effort into the design of larger vessels. He has made suggestions to the brand to increase the colour of the blocks and improve the design process to make the designs more faithful to the original model. Simon is also passionate about astronomy, focusing on aspects such as space missions and rocket launches. |
