Some icons never fade. They just need the right moment to take flight again.
In fall 2026, building-block fans gathered at two conventions in Poland: MOCon Oława (September 26–27) and Brick Arena 2026 in Poznań (October 10–11). Among the many creative displays, one helicopter caught the attention of visitors who recognized it instantly: Airwolf, the legendary aircraft from the classic 1980s TV series.
Creator and influencer Obiblock brought Cubertime’s MOC-149250 Bell-222 Airwolf Helicopter Building Blocks Set (1,039 PCS) to both events.
For many older visitors, Airwolf was more than a detailed model. Its familiar silhouette brought back memories of a television classic from their younger years—showing how building blocks can connect generations through shared pop-culture nostalgia.
Two Polish Building Block Conventions
MOCon Oława: Creativity, Collecting, and Pop Culture
Held on September 26–27, 2026, at Hala OCKF in Oława, MOCon brought together families, adult hobbyists, model builders, and collectors for its first edition.
Visitors explored large-scale brick-built dioramas, original creations, themed displays, and competitions. Pop-culture universes such as Star Wars and Fallout were among the themes highlighted in event previews.
MOCon showed that building-block exhibitions appeal to more than children. Detailed models, creative engineering, and familiar fictional worlds also attract adult builders and collectors.
Brick Arena 2026: A Celebration in Poznań
On October 10–11, 2026, Obiblock presented the Airwolf model at Brick Arena 2026, held at Enea Stadion in Poznań.
The event’s second edition featured themed exhibitions, creator meetups, building workshops, brick-based programming activities, stage presentations, and a shopping area for building sets and collectibles.
Together, these activities made Brick Arena a place to discover new building ideas, meet fellow enthusiasts, and celebrate the creativity of the building-block community.
Both conventions brought together fans of different ages and interests. Against this backdrop, Airwolf offered something particularly memorable: a connection to a television classic that many visitors already knew.
Airwolf: A 1980s TV Icon Recognized Across Generations
First appearing on television in 1984, Airwolf became famous for its high-tech helicopter, dramatic missions, and memorable soundtrack. Its sleek profile, dark finish, and distinctive fictional weaponry helped make it one of the most recognizable aircraft in 1980s television culture.
Decades later, that design still sparks recognition.
For longtime fans, seeing Airwolf can bring back memories of watching the series years ago. Younger visitors may discover the helicopter for the first time, opening the door to a piece of television history.
At MOCon Oława and Brick Arena 2026, Obiblock brought this nostalgic icon into the world of building blocks, showing how a thoughtfully designed model can inspire conversations across generations.
From the Bell 222 to the Legendary Airwolf
Airwolf’s fictional helicopter was based on the Bell 222, a civilian twin-turbine helicopter developed for practical transport roles. The real Bell 222 was associated with corporate transportation, emergency medical services, and utility operations.
The television series transformed this civilian aircraft into a fictional high-tech helicopter with an unmistakable appearance.
Cubertime’s MOC-149250 Bell-222 Airwolf Helicopter Building Blocks Set recreates that iconic look in a detailed, buildable model. Designed and licensed by MOCturnal, it combines the Bell 222’s recognizable shape with the signature styling of Airwolf.

More Than a Model: A Shared Passion for Building
The appeal of fan conventions goes beyond the number of models on display. It lies in the stories those creations inspire and the connections they help people make.
An aircraft model can attract aviation enthusiasts who appreciate its design. A familiar television vehicle can catch the eye of collectors who remember watching it decades ago. Building blocks bring these interests together through creativity, craftsmanship, and a shared love of iconic designs.
The recognition Airwolf received from older visitors at these Polish conventions highlights the emotional value of nostalgic models. They can revive memories, spark conversations, and introduce classic pop-culture icons to a new generation.
For longtime fans, Airwolf represents television history. For builders, it is a chance to recreate an iconic helicopter piece by piece. For collectors, it is a distinctive addition to a display inspired by classic entertainment.
